Adult Therapy
"The curious paradox is that when I accept myself just as I am, then I can change" - Carl Rogers
Perhaps it feels hard to cope, that life is overwhelming, or that you are “stuck”. Maybe the same negative things keep happening, and feel normal so that it is hard to see how to change them. Therapy provides a space to explore, to feel understood, to work through complex issues and dilemmas and to begin to understand oneself. It can help you identify ways of overcoming unhelpful patterns and perhaps begin to see the part you play in them. It is a space where you can be heard and where you can express all your thoughts and feelings.
In order to be helped, people need to feel safe and accepted in a non-judgmental space, where together we can identify and think about negative beliefs and in this way try to resolve current problems. In order to develop deeper self-acceptance, we need from time to time to be challenged and therapy can stir up a range of feelings, that we maybe wary of, but it can also be a rewarding and empowering process.
